SAS0003 - Clay Handbuilding

Course Description

You’ll follow in the tradition that is more than 13,000 years old as you use your hands and some basic tools to create functional, decorative and/or sculptural objects for use in everyday life or for special events. You’ll learn to create forms by using a slab roller, the extruder, and a variety of clays to create beautiful textures and surfaces. A $30 lab fee covers the cost of clay, use of our tools, glazes, and kiln firings. Additional clay and tools will be available for purchase. We do not allow any clay and glazes to be brought to the Studios from other sources as this protects our equipment from damage. You do not need to bring anything to class, but wear clothes that can get dirty. Class size limited to 12 students.
