This course is designed to provide the foundational concepts of informatics practice in healthcare for nursing faculty possessing minimal knowledge of health information technology use, design, or evaluation. Technology is deeply integrated into the infrastructure of modern health care today, and it is essential to understand and utilize these competencies to provide safer, more effective care. Through a variety of learning methods, this course will provide a working knowledge of the core competencies of informatics practice, facilitating the ability to understand and utilize informatics competencies that can be applied to all types of healthcare settings.
