Course Description

The popularity of mindfulness has grown dramatically over the last decade in America. OLLI at Vanderbilt’s three previous offerings on the subject have tapped into this phenomenon and members have expressed an interest in more. This introduction to mindfulness is intended to inspire the cultivation of a more mindful life. Each class will include teachings on mindfulness and a gentle meditation practice. More joy, less suffering, a deeper sense of connection, and greater awareness of the present moment are just some of the benefits that can come from mindfulness. Certain adjustments to the course have been made to present fresh material for repeat participants including additional exploration and incorporation of mindful awareness into daily living and more depth in the elements of establishing a meditation practice.
