Positive psychology explores how we can surpass our usual limits to achieve greater happiness and well-being. This field examines questions like: What defines happiness? How can we enhance our capacity for joy, meaning and hope? What characteristics make an institution supportive and uplifting? This class invites you to investigate the scientific study of happiness while also learning practical strategies to increase your personal joy, meaning and hope. Throughout this class, you will learn about effective happiness tools and methods to integrate these insights into your everyday life and beyond. We will engage in empirically backed activities during class to boost happiness and offer suggestions for happiness habits to implement at home. Whether you are a retired professional, a community leader or someone seeking greater fulfillment, this course offers valuable knowledge to enrich your life.
