This journey into jewelry, metal sculptures and vessel making includes an introduction to tools and materials with an emphasis on a variety of cold joining techniques. In this hands-on class, students work with sheet metal, wire and beads as well as with found objects. Techniques include sawing, piercing, adding texture, metal forming, cold-connection fabrication, wire working and photo resist acid etching. A $30 lab fee covers the cost of use of tools, studio chemistry, and metal wire and supplies to begin the course. Additional metal and wire will be available for purchase. Class size is limited to 12 students.
