This class will offer tube setting, alternative stone setting techniques, creating hollow forms and fold forming. Alternative stone setting techniques will include picket setting, back setting, non-traditional prong setting, and combining setting techniques for irregularly shaped stones. Students must have basic soldering skills such as layering metals, bezel making and cabochon setting. CZ’s will be provided for tube setting but all other stones must be provided by students, including sterling silver heavy-wall tubing for tube setting. Hydraulic pressed forms or found objects such as rocks, old coins or broken tiles can be used in lieu of stones. This class has a $55.00 material fee to cover the cost of new supplies needed for instructor led projects. Additional supplies will be available for purchase in the Studios. Class size limited to 12 students.
