Blair Academy

About the Program

As fulfillment of the founding mission of the Blair School of Music, the Blair Academy at Vanderbilt is dedicated to providing superior musical training to its students as well as to contributing to the musical culture of the Nashville environs. Through performance and classroom instruction, numerous ensemble venues, concerts, lectures, and recitals given by faculty and students, Blair encourages the development and nurturing of each student's musical capabilities.

Blair’s renowned faculty have taught and performed throughout Asia, Europe, and the United States. Rare among community music schools, Blair does not use graduate students or novice instructors to teach young students. Facilities are state of the art, and opportunities abound to participate in private lessons, performances, master classes, library explorations, and ensembles.
